Prince William approves of his stepmum Camilla becoming Queen despite "huge family rows" in the early stages of her marriage to Charles, according to reports.
The Duke of Cambridge is said to be "happy" with his grandmother's wishes for Camilla to become Queen Consort when Charles takes the throne.
And an insider told the Daily Mail: "There were huge family rows in the early stages of Charles and Camilla's marriage as everyone found their feet. William didn't have the best relationship with his father back then.
"But he sees that Camilla had made his father happy and it is something he has come to terms with."
Queen Elizabeth shared her views on Saturday, the night before the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne.
She used the official start of her Platinum Jubilee to make the announcement and her grandson Prince William was reportedly already on board with her decision, according to Bazaar.
In her message addressed to the public signed "your servant Elizabeth R", the monarch renewed her pledge.
"I was blessed that in Prince Philip I had a partner willing to carry out the role of my consort and unselfishly make the sacrifices that go with it, she wrote.
"...And when, in the fulness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me.
"It is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service."
When Prince Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005, palace representatives assured the public that his second wife would not take on the title of Princess of Wales.
This was marked as a sign of respect for the late Princess Diana, even though Camilla was entitled to the name.
It was also promised that Camilla would become Charles’s Princess Consort and not Queen.
Sources at Clarence House said that the change of plan is a result of "natural progression" as she grew closer to the royal family and successfully performed royal duties over the past 17 years.
The latest polls suggest that the Duchess of Cornwall is the 11th most popular member of the royal family.
A YouGov survey revealed 42% of Brits believe that Camilla should become Princess Consort while 26% think she should not receive any title at all.
