Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding celebrations came to an abrupt end, according to an explosive new unofficial biography.
The Duke of Cambridge reportedly had to call a night on the huge party by strict orders of his father, the Prince of Wales.
The announcement in the early hours of the morning created an uneasy atmosphere, well-known author Tom Bower claims.
In an extract from ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors', published today by Blink Publishing, Bower reveals that the 'raucous celebrations' ended on a 'foreboding note'.
"In November 2010, aged 28, William finally proposed," Bower wrote. "The wedding, six months later, was a spectacular success with a substantial global TV audience.

"The raucous celebrations in Buckingham Palace ended on a foreboding note.
"At 2am, Harry, the worse for wear, went to the microphone to announce the party was over on the orders of his father."
He added: "The newlyweds departed in a Fiat Uno."
The revelation comes after it was reported earlier this year that Prince William and Kate, who tied the knot at Westminster Abbey after 10 years of dating, also made a surprise announcement following their nuptials that saw them break a long-standing tradition.
Rather than immediately pack their bags and head off on a honeymoon, it was revealed they would be delaying it.
In an unexpected move, at the time, Clarence House said William would be back at work at his RAF Search and Rescue base in Anglesey, North Wales, just four days after the wedding.
A Clarence House spokesman said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen not to depart for a honeymoon immediately. Instead, after spending the weekend privately in the United Kingdom, the Duke will return to work as a Search and Rescue pilot next week.
“The locations of both their private weekend and their future honeymoon, which will be overseas, will not be disclosed in advance.
“The couple have asked that their privacy be respected during the coming weekend and during their honeymoon.”
Despite their honeymoon destination of choice not being announced at the time, it was later reported that they travelled to the Seychelles.
They jetted off to the tropical paradise 10 days after their big day.
'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors' is set to rock the Royal Family as it examines the rift between the Sussexes and the royals.
It includes allegations that the Duchess threw a cup of tea in the air during a Royal tou r, while the Queen was said to be pleased she couldn't attend Prince Philip's funeral.
Tom Bower's book: 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors' by Blink Publishing will be published on July 21.
