Prince William and Kate Middleton's Bahamas show of intimacy captured in viral TikTok

Prince Willliam and Kate Middleton put on a rare public display of intimacy as they were filmed walking hand-in-hand on their troubled tour of the Caribbean.

The royal couple looked thoroughly loved-up in the Bahamas in a recently-resurfaced video.

It was an infrequent royal show of affection as they walked through their hotel together on their way to an engagement.

William, 39, and Kate, 40, are usually reserved when it comes to their royal appearances, but the pair couldn't resist getting close during their stay in March.

American Jimmy Rex shared a clip on TikTok, which has quickly gone viral.

He wrote: "This couple staying in the Bahamas had 35 security guards."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge embarked on their first major tour since the start of the pandemic, but it wasn't without its issues.

But TikTok users appeared wowed by the video clip, with one person writing: "If anyone was destined to be a queen it was Kate."

Another added: "Lovely to see them holding hands."

William and Kate were shaken by criticism of their Caribbean visit, heralded by some as a PR disaster.

The royal couple faced protests and calls for reparations payments by Britain and an apology for slavery in a tour dubbed 'tone deaf' by commentators.

They were also criticised for some images of the tour to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas, such as the royals shaking hands with Jamaican children through wire fences and standing on an open-top vehicle to observe a military parade that recreated an image of Queen Elizabeth doing the same thing in the 1950s.

Kate and William summoned their entire senior staff to a “clear-the-air meeting” immediately after eight days touring.

Sources revealed the atmosphere in the emergency team summit quickly soured after William revealed his concerns over a perceived lack of input from his staff.

He believed they had been poorly prepared for the reaction they encountered in the Caribbean.

A source said: “The Duke was clearly frustrated at the lack of answers and the absence of any workable solutions being put forward.

“The feeling was there were so many pitfalls that could have been avoided. He knows full well that it is his reputation on the line.

“In dealing with sensitive issues, such as the ones they met on the tour, if they aren’t in tune with what is going on in the world they will be left fighting for their futures.”
