Royal watchers were delighted at the cheeky antics of Prince Louis at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, those with longer memories were reminded of a similar performance in front of the crowds by another four-year-old, 32 years ago.
The similarities between Prince Louis' and the scenes at the Trooping of the Colour in 1988 have not gone unnoticed.
Back then, Louis' uncle Prince Harry - also the second son of the main royal family at the time - played up for the cameras and was photographed sticking his tongue out.

As royal watcher Ashley Bautista remarked: "A young Harry loved the public attention and playing up for the cameras. He especially loved to be caught sticking his tongue out.
"During the family's appearance at the Trooping the Colour in 1988, Harry poked out his tongue. Princess Diana's reaction was just everything, and it appears the other royal children also found the moment hilarious."
Flash forward to 2022, and four-year-old Louis delighted crowds and those watching on TV with his less-than-serious reaction to the show staged for the Platinum Jubilee. This time, though it wasn't just his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, that was trying in vain to get him to behave, it was other members of the Royal Family, including Gloucester and Bath rugby legend Mike Tindall.
Kate Middleton did have some stern words to say to her youngest child though. A lip expert when Kate saw him picking his nose, she put his hand down saying: “You have to.” Louis then replied “I don’t want to”.
He then covered Kate’s mouth. But the Duchess of Cambridge then explained to her son: “I said no hands...” She then told Louis “look” and pointed at the parade.
When he blew her a raspberry, she replied: “Stop doing that.” Louis stood on his chair, waved his hands in the air, wriggled around and stuck his finger in his ear during the show.
