Prince Harry has been warned to remain cautious as former U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering legal action over the Duke of Sussex’s past drug use admissions in his memoir, Spare.
According to sources, Trump may push for prosecution if it is found that Harry was not truthful on his U.S. visa application regarding his history with drugs. While the former president has indicated he has no plans to deport Harry, legal consequences may still be on the table.
Trump previously made his stance clear in a statement, saying, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
However, a source speaking to the Mail on Sunday suggested that Trump’s position could lead to legal repercussions for the Duke of Sussex. “President Trump has made it very clear that if Harry is found to have not told the truth on his visa application, then he could face prosecution.”
The source further added, “President Trump has said he won’t deport Harry, but there is no doubt he would support a prosecution. The word in Washington is he should be very worried indeed. There is no love lost between the Sussexes and President Trump.”
The warning follows ongoing speculation over whether Prince Harry accurately disclosed his past drug use when applying for a U.S. visa. In his memoir Spare, Harry openly admitted to experimenting with cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic substances. Under U.S. immigration laws, admitting to drug use can be grounds for visa denial or revocation, raising questions about whether Harry received special treatment during his application process.
Trump, who has had a longstanding strained relationship with the Sussexes, has previously criticized both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, particularly over their public criticisms of the British royal family. The couple has also made clear their disapproval of Trump, with Meghan publicly speaking out against him during his presidency.
While President Joe Biden’s administration has not taken any action on the matter, sources suggest that a potential Trump return to the White House could see renewed scrutiny on Harry’s immigration status. With the 2024 election approaching, the issue has already sparked political debate, with some conservatives calling for transparency regarding Harry’s visa records.
Legal experts note that if Harry was found to have provided false information, he could face legal consequences, though actual prosecution remains uncertain. As Trump continues to shape the Republican agenda ahead of the next election, Prince Harry’s situation could become a political talking point in the months to come.
