When Prince William married his university sweetheart, Kate Middleton, it was a historic affair filled with royal protocol and tradition. But once all the pomp and ceremony was out the way and well-wishers and TV crews had packed up and gone home, it was just a normal wedding - with dancing, booze and a very cheeky best man speech.
The all important job went to William's younger brother, Harry, who took to the microphone after the Prince and Princess of Wales's guests had tucked into a three-course wedding breakfast.
Insiders claim the speech was funny and sweet, but in keeping with tradition also embarrassed the groom a fair bit. However it's also been claimed that it left Kate in tears.
Royal author Katie Nicholl gave an insight into the special evening in her biography Harry: Life, Loss, and Love.
She writes: "It was affectionate, warm and funny and touched William deeply.
"The speech was peppered with Harry's classic sense of humour, and he ribbed his brother: 'William didn't have a romantic bone in his body before he met Kate, so I knew it was serious when William suddenly started cooing down the phone at Kate'.
"Famous for his mimicry, Harry then impersonated his brother calling Kate 'Babykins', to much laughter from the guests.
"When he said the couple’s decade-long romance was his inspiration, there was a shy smile from Chelsy, while Kate shed a tear."
Kate and William invited 1,900 people to their wedding at Westminster Abbey, but as the day went on the guest list became smaller. 600 joined the royal family for a lunch reception at Buckingham Palace. It was hosted by the Queen, who played a big role in the organisation, including the food. She had a team of 21 chefs make 10,000 canapés for the lucky guests.
The numbers were cut again for the evening do, which was attended by just 300 of the newlyweds' nearest and dearest.
Prince William reportedly got his own back on brother Harry when he acted as Best Man at his wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018.
The Duke reportedly told "filthy" jokes about "wet knickers" during the evening reception at Frogmore House.
He also played a trick on Harry which almost "floored" some of the guests.
Apparently Harry fell off a ladder while trying to change a lightbulb in the lead up to the wedding, so Wills tied a ladder to the back of the newlyweds' car.
