There has been an ongoing rift between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the Royal family since 2018.
According to reports, the family drama began over Christmas 2018 when younger brother Harry said William, the Duke of Cambridge, wasn't doing enough to include Meghan in the Royal Family.
The confrontation led to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publically airing their grievances.
Since then there has been a multitude of revelations, and most recently, confirmation that Meghan Markle will not attend the King's Coronation on May 6.
Despite Meghan's decision not to travel to the UK, Prince Harry has confirmed he will fly in from California to attend his father's Coronation.
But many believe this will highlight the rift within the family.
Money
One of the major factors which led to Harry and Meghan stepping down as working royals in 2020 was their inability to earn their own money.
In a statement that announced their departure, the pair said they would give their frontline roles up n the monarchy and “work to become financially independent”.
They have gone on to sign profitable deals with both Netflix and Spotify, rumoured to be worth more than £100 million, which has enabled them to pay for their security and maintain their new lifestyle in America.
Press
From the beginning of Harry and Meghan's relationship, they have faced trouble with the British press.
In October 2019, Harry launched an unprecedented attack against the British tabloid press for a "ruthless campaign" against Meghan.
The couple has now gone on to launch a number of legal actions against various newspaper publishers, most recently against Associated Newspapers, the parent company of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.
In a scathing statement, Harry announced some newspapers had “vilified her almost daily for the past nine months” and claimed they had published “lie after lie” at Meghan’s expense.
Frogmore Cottage
Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess were requested to 'vacate' Frogmore Cottage.
A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said a request was made for the couple to give up the 17th-century country house, which is close to Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
It has been reported that the move, likely to be viewed as antagonistic weeks after the release of Harry’s autobiography Spare, was sanctioned by King Charles.
Interviews and memoir
Revelations about the family feud have been aired in multiple interviews including the bombshell Oprah interview and his ITV interview with Tom Bradby, and his tell-all memoir Spare.
His controversial autobiography includes claims that that the King put his own interests above Harry’s, and was jealous of the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales.
He also claimed that his brother, Prince William physically attacked him during an altercation at the Sussexes' London home.
Harry also attacked the reputation of the Queen Consort and claimed a fractious friendship between Meghan and Kate in his book.
In his interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry said Charles stopped taking his calls when he was trying to discuss stepping down as a working royal in 2019.
“My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that.” Harry told Winfrey.
Harry’s most damning claim in recent years is that a member of his family – not the late Queen or Duke of Edinburgh – made a racist comment about his son.
The unnamed royal was worried how dark the skin tone of Archie might be before he was born.
