Prince Harry’s new book ‘to lift lid on conflict between him and his brother’

The Duke of Sussex is reportedly set to lift the lid on his row with his brother in his new book.

Prince Harry’s memoir Spare will be out on January 10 and is described by its publishers as being written with “raw, unflinching honesty” and “a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination”.

But some who have already read the book say the Duke’s account is likely to exacerbate relations with his brother.

Spare is set to be released on Tuesday, January 10 (AP)

Reports claim that he may also criticise his sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales.

“Generally, I think the book [will be] worse for them than the Royal family is expecting,” one source told The Sunday Times. “Everything is laid bare. Charles comes out of it better than I expected, but it’s tough on William in particular, and even Kate gets a bit of a broadside.

The source added: “There are these minute details, and a description of the fight between the brothers. I personally can’t see how Harry and William will be able to reconcile after this.”

A source told the Sun: “At the heart of this book lies a sibling rivalry between little brother and big brother.

They said it will expose Harry’s “feelings of unfairness that by the nature of hierarchy and birthright that he always played second fiddle to older William.”

It comes just a few weeks after Harry & Meghan, the Netflix documentary last month laid bare the extent of the fallout between the brothers.

The Duke claimed in the documentary series that his brother “screamed and shouted” at him in January 2020 during crisis talks about the Sussexes leaving the UK.

Spare has already spent weeks near the top of the Amazon books sales charts based on advance orders, with the title appearing in the top 20 UK listings on Monday.

It follows reports that Prince Harry has shared details about the book in a “revealing” interview that will air on CBS News on Sunday.

The broadcaster has released a short trailer for the interview on its 60 Minutes programme with Anderson Cooper.
