Prince Harry's fleeting Coronation visit to 'backfire' claims Meghan's ex-friend

Prince Harry has been blasted for his decision to jet in and out of the UK for King Charles and Queen Camilla's upcoming Coronation.

The Duke of Sussex will be flying into London to attend the official ceremony at Westminster Abbey before returning to his home in Montecito, California.

Meanwhile, his wife Meghan Markle will be remaining at home with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Harry, 38, is believed to be flying straight home in order to celebrate Archie's fourth birthday surrounded by the young Prince's school friends and his parent's famous pals.

But the decision to miss the Coronation concert at Windsor Castle and post-Coronation events hasn't gone down too well with Meghan's ex-pal, Lizzie Cundy.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lizzie, 54, fumed: "Prince Harry coming to the Coronation and dipping his toe in and out, he'll have a hard job walking away with any pride, he'll be on one leg as his other foot will be in his mouth.

"He's only coming to the Coronation for a fleeting moment so he can write in his next book or say in his next interview with Meghan, how poorly treated he was by everybody and how his dad didn't want him.

"He's done this to himself."

Model and TV presenter Lizzie added: "King Charles has so sweetly invited them, despite all their interviews and trashing of the Royal Family to the Coronation.

"They have taken forever to answer him and are now using the poor excuse that Meghan can't go because of Archie's birthday but Harry is still coming despite him trashing the royals and everything it stands for."

"This is all for his next book, so he can say he is the Spare," claimed Cundy, before adding: "This will backfire terribly, Harry this isn't about you.

"This is about your father, his Coronation – the most monumental and historic day, many of us will never see a Coronation in our lifetime."

The trained actress went on to fume: "How disrespectful for him to not even stay after."

TV star Lizzie urged Harry to remain in California while noting that His Majesty and Queen Camilla was "kind enough" to go out of their way to include the Sussexes in the official programme for the event

It's believed that Harry will be sitting alongside members of his family who are not working royals, including cousins Princess Beatrice and Eugenie and the likes of Cassius Taylor, Lady Sarah Chatto and Zara Tindall.
