Prince Harry's children have claim to be involved in Coronation balcony due to Princess Anne precedent

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet might not be invited to the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla, however, there is precedent for Harry and Meghan's children to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony, writes The Mirror.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to confirm whether they will be part of the congregation inside Westminster Abbey next month.

Despite being the grandchildren of the new King, sources say that three-year-old Archie and one-year-old Lilibet have not even been invited because they are "very young".

This does not necessarily mean they should not be allowed to look down at the crowds gathered outside from the famous balcony.

King Charles made history as the first child to witness their mother's coronation as Sovereign when he was just four-years-old, but two-year-old sister Princess Anne was not present.

Despite not being invited, Princess Anne seemingly didn't miss out on much as a hilarious photo was captured of a bored-looking Charles at the ceremony.

In one photo he can be seen standing between his grandmother Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret Rose in the royal box at Westminster Abbey.

Anne didn't get to attend the Coronation itself due to her age, she was able to join her older brother and newly-crowned mother on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Detailed plans seen by our sister paper reveal how the King has chosen to say thanks for the nation alongside a select few royals who have dedicated their lives to public service, while also showing “the heartbeat and future of his family”.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will make their way from Westminster Abbey in the Gold State coach back to Buckingham Palace, joined in procession with the chosen group.

Future king and queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, nine; Princess Charlotte, seven and Prince Louis, four will also be present.

The final group of 15 doesn't include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, although it's uncertain if they will attend the event at all.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to respond to an official invitation by the King, although rumours of their demands to be included on the balcony are said to be “wide of the mark”, according to palace insiders.
