Prince Harry has become "homesick" despite the ongoing and growing rift between the Royal family, as the Duke of Sussex reportedly made calls to his father seeking "reassurances" ahead of his trip back to the UK for the coronation next month.
King Charles and his wife Camilla will officially be crowned in the landmark ceremony at Westminster Abbey on May 6, and after weeks of speculation, it was finally revealed Harry would be attending the historical day whilst his wife Meghan stays at home with Archie and Lilibet.
The former working royal, 38, will face the music after months of growing tensions between his side of the family and other senior royals following his allegations directed towards the monarchy and scathing attacks on Queen Camilla.
And as reported by the Mirror, the King's son is concerned about security arrangements when he jets across to his home turf following his controversial Netflix documentary and bombshell memoir Spare, royal editor Russell Myers has said.
He has been seeking "seeking reassurances" from King Charles and is also "homesick," according to Myers, who was speaking to Sky News Australia.
"He’s homesick, he does miss his family,” Mr Myers told Sky News Australia.
Myers finds it difficult to believe Harry will be looking to rekindle relationships given some of the comments he's made about his relatives in recent months, adding: “It’s very hard to see how that marriages up with his attitude."
It comes as Prince Harry's attendance at the event has been crafted down to "the last detail", ensuring him and his estranged brother Prince William aren't placed next to each other in seating arrangements. Former royal butler Paul Burrell says Harry will be sitting "ten rows back" during the ceremony and is probably "not going to hang around."
There have been rumours speculating that Harry is expected to only remain in the country 24 hours, according to insider reports, as the event on May 6 also lands on his son Prince Archie's fourth birthday.
Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has planned a 'low-key' bash for her son, with some star-studded celebs as well as Meghan's mum Doria [Ragland] in attendance. Naturally, little sister Lilibet will also be part of the celebrations.
"Meghan will definitely have support that weekend," the source told People magazine.
"They are so sweet together. Archie loves Lili. He's such a sweet boy. When she's not around, he asks, 'Where's Lili?' " the source added.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet last visited the UK for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June last year. It was little Lilibet's first ever trip to her father's homeland.
A source told People at the time it was a "fantastic visit", where Lilibet, who was born on June 4, 2021, met Charles and the late Queen Elizabeth for the first time.
They said it was "very emotional" and a 'wonderful thing" for Charles to see his granddaughter.
