In the book, Earl Spencer alleges King Charles made insensitive remarks following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Senior members of the Royal Family, including King Charles, Prince William , and Princess Catherine, continued scheduled public engagements without addressing the claims.
Buckingham Palace responded to the allegations by stating that the King is mindful that grief can cloud reason.
