NEW YORK — Nelson Mandela’s beacon of hope should be a lesson for us all, Prince Harry said Monday during a speech to the United Nations.
The British royal, who was joined in New York by wife Meghan, honored the legacy of the former South African president and anti-apartheid activist on the international day in his honor, but said the world Mandela left behind is in trouble.
Mandela, Harry said, “endured the very worst of humanity: vicious racism and state-sponsored brutality.”
