Prince Harry is 'laying low' and 'doesn't want to cause any more upset', claims expert

Prince Harry "doesn't want to cause any more upset" and is "laying low for now", a royal expert has claimed.

Since stepping down as a senior working royal and moving to America with wife Meghan Markle, Harry has made several claims against his family.

In March last year, he and Meghan sat down for a bombshell chat with Oprah Winfrey, where they alleged there had been conversations about how dark their son Archie's skin would be before he was born.

Harry also revealed a rift between him and his brother, Prince William and he told how he felt "really let down" by his father, Prince Charles, and had been "cut off financially" by the royals.

He also lashed out at Charles on the Armchair Expert podcast and the Apple series The Me You Can't See.

But with Harry's beloved grandmother the Queen suffering health issues last year and her Platinum Jubilee celebrations coming up, royal expert Katie Nicholl says he will try to keep things calmer.

Katie told Closer magazine : "Whether Harry has regrets or not, I don’t know, but what I do know is that he has a history of lashing out at the establishment before. He’s talked about his “accident of birth” and the “burden of the crown”.

"He’s been critical in the past, but then goes quiet. I think since last year he’s paused and reflected.

"And he’s realised how much last year took a toll on his grandmother, and doesn’t want to cause any more upset, so is laying low for now."

There has been speculation Harry and Meghan could return to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

Since leaving for America, Harry has returned to the UK twice - for Prince Philip's funeral and to unveil a statue of his late mother Princess Diana.

Meghan has yet to return with son Archie, while daughter Lilibet, was born in America and has never been to England.

Last month, royal sources revealed Charles has offered an olive branch to Harry by inviting his family to stay with him when they next visit the UK.

However, it then emerged that Harry claims he is “unable to return home” after a decision following his exit from the royal family stripped him of his right to personal security provided by the Met Police.

Harry, 37, has since decided to sue the British government by applying for a judicial review against the decision, which could see him face the Home Office at the court.
