The claim followed a letter sent to UK officials on King Charles’ behalf. It also came before a subsequent withdrawal from Uganda’s participation in the Invictus Games.
According to Closure Weekly, the dispute followed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK a few weeks ago. A guidance letter was sent to UK officials on September 7, stating that the Duke and Duchess remained non-working royals. One day later, Uganda pulled out of Harry’s 2027 Invictus Games. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba said the move was to avoid appearing “opposed to His Majesty.”
