Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's popularity in US slumps lower than Prince Andrew

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's have hit a slump in US popularity as a recent poll shows they are now rated lower than disgraced royal Prince Andrew.

The couple, who sensationally quit life as working royals before embarking on a new life in Canada then the US have shared their story in a series of high profile interviews and Harry's memoir Spare.

But Harry's sharing often intimate details of the British Royal family could have cost the couple as they have taken a dive in US ratings.

According to a poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton for Newsweek on February 19, Harry was disliked by 42% of Americans, compared to 32% who said they liked him — with a 'net approval rating of -10.

The same poll saw Harry at 38 points in a December 5 poll showing a staggering 48 point drop in.

Former suits star Meghan was liked by 27 percent of Americans and disliked by 44 percent giving her a net rating -17 in February 19 figures on the same poll.

In stark comparison Harry's uncle, Prince Andrew, sits at net approval rating sits at -2 following his New York civil trial against Virginia Robert, which lawyers settled out of court.

The Sussexes' have been struck by another blow after an episode of South Park saw the pair lampooned and aired four days before the latest polls in the episode entitled The Worldwide Privacy Tour.

Although Harry and Meghan weren't actually named, character Kyle is seen saying: "It seriously is driving me crazy. I'm sick of hearing about them but I can't get away from them!"

"They're everywhere. In my f****ing face."

The episode mocks the pair for demanding privacy from and being hypocritical because of their dislike of journalists.

But a spokesman for Harry, 38, branded claims the couple plan to sue South Park creators 'boring and baseless '.

Meanwhile Harry's memoir shone insight into the brother's roles from which the book takes its title Spare.

In one incident recalled in the book, Harry raised a clear 'Heir to the Spare' conversation with William over the former shaving his beard for his wedding in 2018 — something William himself adhered to.

In blistering assault on his role he says: "I was the shadow, the support, the Plan B. I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy. I was summoned to provide backup, distraction, diversion and, if necessary, a spare part. Kidney, perhaps. Blood transfusion. Speck of bone marrow."

Popularity is wading for the couple, and will be further tested when King Charles III's coronation, in May, whether they attend or not.
