Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are set to make their mark on Netflix with a series of exciting projects in development. The couple, who signed a multi-year deal with the streaming platform in September 2020, have already released a docuseries and a feature-length film through their production company, Archewell Productions.

During the New on Netflix press event, Bela Bajaria, Netflix's Chief Content Officer, revealed that Harry and Meghan have a number of unscripted shows in the works, as well as a scripted series and a feature-length movie. Bajaria described the projects as being in the early stages of development but expressed enthusiasm, stating, 'But yeah, the movie's great.'

The first collaboration between the Sussexes and Netflix was a six-part docuseries titled Harry & Meghan, which delved into their experiences within the British royal family and their decision to step away from their roles as senior working royals. The couple later released Heart of Invictus, a documentary highlighting Harry's Invictus Games for wounded veterans.

In addition to their documentary work, Harry and Meghan are venturing into scripted content. They have secured the film rights to Carley Fortune's romance novel Meet Me at the Lake and are working on adapting it for the screen. The story explores a second-chance love between Fern Brookbanks and Will Baxter, who reconnect a decade after their initial meeting.

Meghan, known for her acting career prior to her marriage to Harry, retired from the industry in 2018. However, she has expressed interest in directing and being involved behind the camera. While plans for an animated children's series she was attached to produce for Netflix fell through in 2022, Meghan has not ruled out the possibility of revisiting her role as Rachel Zane in the hit TV show Suits.

Since their royal exit, the Sussexes have also ventured into the podcasting world with a partnership with Spotify. Although this collaboration ended in 2023, there are indications that the couple is eager to make a Hollywood comeback. Meghan's focus seems to be on directing rather than acting, but she has not dismissed the idea of a potential Suits reboot.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's partnership with Netflix has given them a platform to create original content that informs and provides hope. Through their production company, they aim to use storytelling to make a positive impact. With an array of projects in the works, the couple continues to add to their repertoire and expand their creative ventures.

As fans eagerly anticipate the release of these upcoming Netflix projects, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are poised to make a lasting mark in the world of entertainment while championing causes close to their hearts.
