Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Avoiding the 'Too Awkward' Royal Christmas Gathering, Close Pal Claims

A family Christmas built around Doria Ragland appears more likely than a festive reunion with King Charles and the Royal Family (Credit: Office of the Governor-General /Wikimedia Commons/IBTimes UK)

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are unlikely to spend Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham in December 2026, with a friend of the couple describing the prospect as 'too awkward and too difficult'. Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are considering festive plans centred on Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, and her preferences for the holiday season.

The couple are reportedly not expecting an invitation from King Charles to join the traditional royal Christmas gathering. According to a friend quoted by The Sunday Times, the Sussexes are not waiting for an invitation either, suggesting that a reunion with senior royals is not currently part of their plans.
