Prince George visits Eton with William and Kate sparking rumours he'll go to dad's school

Prince George has been spotted visiting Eton alongside parents William and Kate.

The nine-year-old has been schooled at Lambrook School in Berkshire since September last year, but a visit to the prestigious public school on Wednesday - which costs £46,000 a year in fees - has sparked talks on whether he will follow in his father's footsteps.

Prince William also attended the historic boys' school near Windsor as a child from 1995, after King Charles attended Scottish boarding school Gordonstoun - which he reportedly hated.

George, who will next month celebrate his 10th birthday, was seen accompanied by his doting parents at the college on Wednesday as the Prince and Princess of Wales chatted with staff.

Kate was seen talking to two employees of the famous and historic school while wearing an elegant aquamarine dress and ballet pumps, Hello! reports.

The family were standing near an archway, by a sign that reads: 'Porters' Lodge' and previous reports about the school explain that through the doors you'll find the school yard where a statue of the college's founder, King Henry VI, is displayed.

Prince William was the first senior royal to go to Eton, and was followed by brother Harry who was also educated there between 1998 and 2003.

Fees for Eton are a staggering £15,432 per term - according to the school's website - with a £400 fee just for registering, although scholarships are offered to pupils who pass an exam.

It is one of three public schools to have remained boys only, alongside Harrow and Radley, and having educated the likes of George Orwell and Eddie Redmayne.

It also counts 20 British Prime Ministers along its alumni, including Boris Johnson and David Cameron.

While Eton only takes boys from the age of 13, it's thought Kate and William could be getting George used to the school if he is also to study there.

George currently attends the same school as sister Princess Charlotte and brother Prince Louis, which is Lambrook School in Berkshire.

Previous to that, he was at St Thomas' in Battersea, London.

As well as strong academic standards, private mixed school Lambrook has 178 LAMDA lessons on offer each week along with 420 individual music lessons, from tap dancing to bagpipe playing.

The school also has a firm environmental focus, with each class in charge of its own veg patch, as well as lessons on ecology and the food industry.

Pupils planted 300 saplings last year to reduce their carbon footprint, meanwhile.

The school also houses rabbits which the children are welcome to pet at lunchtimes.

A previous post on their Instagram read: "The Lambrook Orchard is home to pigs, chickens, rabbits, bees and visiting lambs.

"As part of our sustainability curriculum, we teach our children about their natural environment; our hope is that caring for these animals will equip the children with practical skills, a greater understanding of animal welfare and the food industry, as well as providing plenty of entertainment and joy."

When the royal trio joined the school in September 2022, Headmster Jonathan Perry, said: "We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community."
