The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a new photo of their son Prince George to mark his ninth birthday.
The young royal , who is currently third in line to the throne, was all smiles in the photo taken by his mum Kate. Sporting a blue polo shirt and a toothy grin, George looked the spitting image of Prince William in the snap.
The picture was posted to the Duke and Duchess’ social media accounts, continuing Kate Middleton’s habit of sharing her own photographs to mark the birthdays of her three children, The Mirror reports . The sweet tradition began with George’s first birthday, where the youngster was pictured toddling around the Natural History Museum in dungarees.
For Prince George’s eighth birthday last year, the family paid tribute to his late great-grandfather Prince Philip with a photo of the young royal on top of a Land Rover Defender. Back in May Princess Charlotte also had her photo taken by mum Kate to mark her seventh birthday, pictured smiling in a field of bluebells.
Prince George was recently seen attending the Wimbledon men’s final with his parents, looking every part the future King in a smart dark blue suit. But it was his cheeky little brother Louis who stole the show during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations by pulling faces from the Buckingham Palace balcony.
