Prince George was so concerned about endangered animals in Africa that he organised a cake sale in lockdown to raise funds for a conservation charity, it has emerged.
Charlie Mayhew, chief executive of Tusk, said that the royal youngster, who turns nine next month, wrote a “very sweet card about it” telling of his concern for endangered species on the continent.
George’s father Prince William is patron of Tusk, a conservation charity that focuses on Africa, and is a prominent campaigner on environmental issues.
Tusk declined to reveal how much third in line to the throne George raised from his own cake sale venture.
But Mr Mayhew told GB News: "Prince George very sweetly did a little cake sale to raise money for Tusk during lockdown and wrote a very sweet card about it, clearly demonstrating his concern for Africa’s wildlife.”

"It’s heartbreaking to think that by the time my children, George, Charlotte and Louis are in their 20s, elephants, rhinos and tigers might well be extinct in the wild,” he said in 2018.
He added some of the rhinos he saw on a trip to Africa "are so threatened they have more bodyguards than I do”.
Meanwhile last year, William revealed that George had been carrying out litter picking sessions at school, which left his son frustrated about the state of the planet.
Speaking to a BBC podcast last year, William divulged: "So George at school recently has been doing litter picking and I didn't realise but talking to him the other day he was already showing that he was getting a bit confused and a bit sort of annoyed by the fact they went out litter picking one day and then the very next day they did the same route, same time and pretty much all the same litter they picked up back again.
"And I think that for him he was trying to understand how and where it all came from. He couldn't understand, he's like, 'well, we cleaned this. Why has it not gone away?’"
George had a front-row seat at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this month, taking to the balcony with his family, celebrating in the royal box at the concert and the pageant, and riding in a carriage procession for the first time.
