Prince George may be moving schools due to Royal Family tradition, says expert

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly been "eyeing up" schools in Berkshire for their eldest son Prince George.

The family has long been rumoured to be relocating to Windsor and with George turning nine later this year, a change in his schooling could happen as early as this September, it is claimed.

He currently attends St Thomas's Battersea alongside his younger sister Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis is also expected to enrol there later this year.

And according to one royal expert, George's rumoured school move could be down to a Royal Family tradition.

Royal author Duncan Larcombe told OK! that it's actually unusual for royal children to all get their education at the same school.

He explained: "William and Harry broke the mould by going to the same school, but if you look at the Queen's children, they were all schooled separately.

"And, of course, William and Harry wouldn't have gone to the same school if one of them was a girl.

"Kate had a traditional co-ed education but it seems to be almost par for the course with the royals that they don't pile all of their children into the same school."

He also added that royals often want their children to have different experiences growing up and that picking the right school is crucial for their future lives.

Duncan said: "There are little boys somewhere who will make friends with Prince George at his new school and may well be his right-hand men for the rest of their lives."

Among the schools said to be in the running for Prince George is Lambrook - a co-education school near Ascot.

Other schools they have reportedly looked at are Ludgrove Prep, St Andrews Pangbourne and Papplewick.

A source told the Daily Mail : "It's an open secret the Cambridges are looking to settle in Berkshire and George is set to leave Thomas's this summer, unless circumstances suddenly change.

"It's the talk of the county and they will, of course, be made extremely welcome.

'"They always put their children front and centre of everything they do, so finding the right school has been a priority. It's about what works for them as a family."
