Prince Andrew will not be wearing military uniform at the upcoming ceremonial events to mark the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, sources have said. This is with the exception of the final vigil at Westminster Hall, where he will attend in uniform as a final mark of respect for his late mother.
During the mourning of the Queen, all working members of the Royal Family will wear their military uniform when present at the five ceremonial events in honour of her death. These events will be: the Service of Thanksgiving at St Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh, the procession to Westminster Hall and service of prayer and reflection, the Vigil at Westminster Hall, the state funeral at Westminster Abbey and the Committal Service at St George's Chapel Windsor.
The Duke of York is no longer a working member of the Royal Family, after he stepped down from his public duties in May 2020. It is predicted that the Queen's second son will wear a morning suit, as he did at Prince Philp's funeral, when his mother is laid to rest.
