Prime Video top 10 shows — here’s the 3 worth binge-watching this week (August 5-11)

Prime Video logo on a red-orange background.

Now that August is here, the year is heading into its final stretch. With the warmer days (hopefully) beginning to wind down in a few weeks, it’s the perfect time to start looking ahead to the chillier months and all the cozy excitement that comes with Halloween. In fact, spooky season is my favorite time of year.

So if you’re ready to escape the lingering summer heat and embrace those evenings indoors, Prime Video’s top 10 list offers the perfect excuse for your next binge.

Prime Video’s trending list reveals plenty of great shows worth streaming. This includes an action-comedy series still holding strong in the No. 1 spot, a military thriller currently airing its third season, and an animated superhero adventure packed with some surprisingly dark themes. So, if you need a new series to lock into, these three Prime Video titles are essential viewing right now.

This list is based on the Prime Video U.S. top 10 shows as of Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Best shows in the Prime Video top 10

‘Ride or Die’

Still holding strong in the No. 1 spot is “Ride or Die,” an action-comedy series created by comedian and writer Tessa Coates. It’s the perfect show for anyone who enjoys watching two friends go through hell together, and much of its appeal comes from the chemistry between Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, whose genuine screen presence drives the series. It also features a standout supporting cast including Bill Nighy, Ed Skrein, Sylvia Hoeks, and Calam Lynch.

“Ride or Die” follows Debbie Claybourne (Octavia Spencer), whose everyday life changes forever when she discovers that her lifelong best friend, Judith Burton (Hannah Waddingham), has secretly been working as an international assassin. After a mission goes disastrously wrong, the pair are forced to flee across Europe while being hunted by elite killers and powerful criminals. As Debbie uncovers shocking truths about her husband’s involvement in a corrupt political scheme, she and Judith race to expose the conspiracy.

‘Lioness’

There’s no better time to stream “Lioness,” especially now that season 3 recently dropped, and Prime Video is giving you the chance to catch up with the first season. This intense military espionage thriller series, created by Taylor Sheridan, is inspired by an actual U.S. military undercover program and explores the impact these dangerous missions have on those involved. If you enjoy tense thrillers that move at a relentless pace, you’re likely to enjoy “Lioness.”

Joe (Zoe Saldaña) is a senior CIA operative who leads the agency’s covert Lioness program. After a mission ends in tragedy, she recruits Marine Raider Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira) for a dangerous undercover assignment. Cruz is tasked with infiltrating the inner circle of Aaliyah Amrohi, the daughter of a powerful financier linked to terrorism, gathering intelligence before a planned attack can take place. Joe has to coordinate the mission alongside CIA supervisors Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman) and Byron Westfield (Michael Kelly).

‘Batman: Caped Crusader’

“Batman: Caped Crusader” is an animated crime-thriller series that serves as a spiritual successor to “Batman: The Animated Series,” delivering a pulp-noir, 1940s-inspired reimagining of Gotham City and Batman’s early days as a crimefighter. The series presents a deeply flawed and corrupt Gotham, framing Batman as an unpolished, feared urban legend rather than an established superhero. With season 2 now available to stream on Prime Video, there’s never been a better time to dive into this fresh take on the Dark Knight.

Set in Gotham City, it follows the wealthy socialite as he adopts his masked identity and begins investigating the city’s growing criminal activity. As Batman works to uncover threats lurking throughout Gotham, his actions bring him into contact with new allies within the police department and familiar figures from the city’s criminal underworld. Featuring a voice cast including Hamish Linklater as Bruce Wayne/Batman, the series follows the Dark Knight as he establishes himself as Gotham’s mysterious protector.
