Primark warns of lower profits after Christmas sales failed to deliver

Primark was forced to slash its prices over Christmas after a disappointing peak trading season when sales failed to reach expectations.

George Weston, chief executive of the discount fashion chain’s owner Associated British Foods (ABF), admitted “Primark has had a challenging start to the financial year.”
