If you've started the year with the usual promises - lose weight, get fit, learn a new skill - then Primark has got your back when it comes to one of those goals. For those dusting down their gym wear and realising it needs an update, the budget retailer has rolled out a line of "affordable activewear".
Posting on Instagram, the high street store promoted its range which has everything from performance leggings and crop tops to an extra large capacity water bottle to ensure exercise kings and queens are fully hydrated. The store wrote on social media: "Affordable activewear so you can look good and feel good about your gym wear choices. Swipe for the water bottle you need rn. Prices from £6/€7/$9 #Primark."
And while the post indicated prices start from £6, the retailer's website shows items in different designs being sold even cheaper. We spotted performance high-rise shorts at £4.50.

Fans of the store were quick to respond to the post, which appeared on the site just a day ago. One social media user wrote: "Love this. Definitely making a trip to local [store] and making a purchase." Another said: "Absolutely need this set," while a third added simply "Beautiful".
The highlighted activewear has been designed in a 95% nylon, 5% elastane mix to a jacquard pattern. The post shows the design in a navy colourway.
Primark says: "Slay your next workout class". Adding that the garments are made from fabric that’s been "enriched with stretch for comfortable wear and optimal movement". Speaking about the leggings in the range, it adds: "Designed to offer the support you need during those intense workout classes, these leggings feature a thick, elasticated waistband and full-length legs. Pair them with a sports bra and our matching top for a look so put together you might just shed a tear of joy. If only looking good while breaking a sweat was always this easy!"
The leggings are priced at £10.00 and can be viewed on the Primark website. There is also a long sleeved performance crop top in the same design priced at £6.00, cycling shorts at £6.00 and a zip-up top at £12.00. Primark are also selling chunky mesh low top trainers at £16.00 and water bottles from £2.50. XXL versions are from £4.50.
