Primark fans fume over £6 Spring dresses for mums and daughters

Dressing siblings alike is one thing but would you dress in the same outfit as your child? Twinning with your little one is a major trend on social media at the moment, so if you are rocking the same look as your 'mini me' you are not alone - and numerous celebs are doing it as well.

Latching on to the trend, various fashion brands are styling outfits so you and your tot can match. Primark launched its 'from £6' spring dresses on the theme with Stacey Solomon and her girls modelling the range. However, fans of the retailer were divided after noticing that there are cute spring matching outfits for mums and their daughters - but they've been angrily asking where are the opportunities for them to dress similarly to their sons.

Some fuming 'boy mums' took to Primark's TikTok account and slammed the fashion brand for not being inclusive after a video showed two mannequins in identical floral patterns. Written over the top of the video was: "Time to twin with your little one." The adult outfit was a cute midi-length dress, and the outfit for girls was a top and shorts set. Over the top, the voiceover said: "I don't know who needs to hear this, but spring is coming."

Mums of boys headed to the comments section to express their upset that they couldn't match with their sons this springtime. The Mirror reported that one wrote: "Mums of boys would love it if Primark did a collection where you could match with the little men in your life!" Another fumed: "We want to match our boys too! Come on now, my boy would rock that print in a pair of shorts."

The comments continued: "...and the BOYS???" followed by multiple blue hearts. Another said: "Some mums have boys, believe it or not. Are we just not allowed to matchy match?". Someone else added: "Us boy mums are forgotten".

Those who could participate in the matching trend seemed particularly pleased, however, with many parents tagging in friends saying they were purchasing the matching outfits.

A spokesperson for Primark said: "We regularly have matching ranges for the entire family, including our famous Christmas fam jams and our Amalfi lemon range last summer. Keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming summer family collection, due in stores in about eight weeks!"
