Primark fans dub £8 cushioned slippers the 'perfect shoe'

Fashion budget retail chain Primark have unveiled its latest pair of shoes that fans say are "in need of" with its bold, funky colours and soft material much talked about amongst fans and shoeholics.

Primark’s official Instagram account posted a photo of newly released open-toed cushioned slip-ons, which are sold in two colours: bright orange and purple.

Priced at £8, the retailer has yet indicated if the shoes are available in all stores yet as seen online - however, fans have not stopped sharing their views on when they can next quickly grab a pair- or perhaps way too many.

The caption reads: “Slippers or sliders? Settle the debate in the comments Only £8/€9/$10 #Primark #NewArrivals”

While commenters quickly flocked to express their excitement, as prompted by the post itself, they were also eager to debate on whether the pair should even be called sliders or slippers.

One user wrote: “In Germany it's called Latschen or Schlappen so slippers?” while a second user added: “I don't care!!!! I want a pair....”

A third user chimed in: “Those are Slippers.. sliders are rubber solid sole not soft materials” while a fourth jokingly wrote: “Slippers, it is my age [laughing emoji]. I don't wear slippers but they are cute, the colours [love heart emoji].” A fifth stated: “I wouldn't wear these outside and they look cozy so I'm going slippers”

Others had no interest in participating in the sliders vs. slippers debate, as they simply wanted to show their infatuation for the slip-ons. One user wrote: “need these for my tootsies” while another said: “love these oh the colours”

A third user commented: “perfect shoe-indoor & outdoor slippers xx” while a fourth remarked: “Yeah I like them I like the purple ones”

In other Primark-related news, Primark has appointed former Tesco executive Michelle McEttrick, as the company’s first ever chief customer officer.

McEttrick, who was previously group brand director at Tesco from 2015 until last year, will join Primark this September to take on the newly created role that will further develop the Primark brand into new markets, channels and products.

CEO Paul Marchant said in a release: “Michelle brings a broad set of skills and experience that I believe will be invaluable as we grow the Primark brand for the future. I am delighted to welcome her to the team.”
