Primark is best known amongst shoppers for coming out with stylish wardrobe staples at some of the cheapest prices on the market. Recently, they've shocked fans with their budget dupes of high-end items, including dupes of popular brand North Face.
However, their latest release has left their shoppers floored as they've released a £4 dupe of Gemma Owen 's iconic necklace, which she was never seen without during her stint on Love Island. The similarities between the budget retailer's inexpensive version compared to the reality star's original was uncanny - and people couldn't help but be amazed that it's just a fraction of the original price, which is estimated to be in the thousands.
Taking to popular video-streaming service TikTok, a customer shared her shock as she stumbled across the replica in-store, retailing less than £5.
Captioning the post, Beth Wainwright - who boasts more than 23,000 followers on account @bethwainwrightt - wrote: " Primark bringing the viral Gemma Owen necklace dupe for just £4 - do we love?
The piece of Primark jewellery featured a gold tone, which was bejewelled with stars and small crystals to give the appearance of diamonds.
It looked extremely similar to Gemma's signature gold 'X' necklace, which she wasn't seen without when she first appeared on Love Island in 2022 - and the price proves why.
Whilst on the ITV series, fans spotted that the simple choker that the daughter of Michael Owen always wears is actually from Tiffany & Co.
The piece, which is from their Graffiti X collection, is unlike the others as it's one of the vintage pieces that jewellery designer Jean Schlumberger created in the 80s.
One fan wanted to know more about the necklace was from and ended up shocked to discover the piece usually costs around £20,000.
The eager TikToker broke down the cost of the necklace once spotting it on Tiffany's website. However, she pointed out that Gemma's version is of a gold choker-style, meaning hers is a "lot thicker and it also has diamonds embellished".
The fan couldn't find the exact necklace online but said its resale value started at £7,500 for a piece without diamonds.
She then estimated Gemma's goes for £15,000 - £20,000.
Other users pointed out that the necklace costs a lot more as it is a bespoke item from a vintage collection and only a few were made.
They estimated it to cost around £40,000. Whilst the exact cost of the necklace isn't known, a similar platinum and gold version went on sale for £42,835.
The TikTok video, which has surpassed 290,000 views since posting, left viewers flocking to the comment section to gush over Primark's inexpensive yet dazzling version.
One viewer penned: "Omg I wantttt oneee."
"My god I want this," a second agreed.
