Athletics-mad Kenya is rejoicing after Nairobi was selected to host the 2029 world championships, becoming the first African city to ever stage the event.
World Athletics announced the decision on Tuesday following a meeting of its ruling council in Budapest, where Nairobi was chosen ahead of London, Rome and Munich, with the German city instead awarded the 2031 championships by the sport's governing body.
