Pride 2022 events happening this summer – including massive Brighton parade

London Pride saw the cast of the highly acclaimed Netflix show Heartstopper dancing in front of anti-gay protesters, and ex-love Islander Antigoni celebrating with her famous mum in the streets.

But never fear, the celebrations are continuing in cities across the country until the end of September, promising fun, glitter and - most importantly - pride.

The events vary from city to city; some run for the full weekend and others are just for a Saturday, but they all promise to be a celebration of love and unity.

As well as the greats of Manchester and Brighton, the festivities are expected at other cities like Cambridge, which is hosting its second Pride, and Cardiff which promises a weekend of Welsh partying.

Cambridge Pride - July 9

Three years after the first ever Pride in Cambridge, the city’s second-ever celebrations will take place in Jesus Green in the city.

Cambridge Pride 2022 is sponsored by ARU, and will feature a main stage, youth and family tent, community hive, dance area, community café and The Commonwealth Games baton will also be traveling through the celebrations.

Newcastle Pride – July 22-24

Also known as Northern Pride, their incredible line-up includes Melanie C, Joe McElderry and BBC Radio 1 presenter and DJ Adele Roberts.

The fun will be based at Newcastle's Town Moor for the entire weekend, with the theme “Remember, Resist, Rise Up".

Newcastle city will host the Forth Plinth – a platform showcasing the trans, non-binary and gender diverse community – and an accompanying Local Heroes Awards will celebrate LGBTQ+ people and allies who have made an impact to the community over the last 50 years.

Liverpool Pride – July 30

Liverpool Pride is a staple in the city and will begin with its annual (despite a three-year hiatus) March With Pride.

The free Pride is sponsored by Barclays and will centre around the city’s waterfront, near to the Pride Quarter, where other festivities will undoubtedly be ongoing.

Further details including a line-up and events list are due to be announced.
