Shoppers who buy milk from supermarkets, or have it delivered to their door, have been warned over huge price increases.
New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show the average cost of a pint of milk in the UK jumped by a huge 40% between July 2021 and July 2022. Consumers can now expect to pay around 59p a pint, compared with 42p twelve months earlier.
In May of this year, Arla Foods' chief commercial officer Peter Giortz-Carlson told Sky News that input costs, driven higher by the war in Ukraine, will have to be passed on to customers.
