It’s no wonder that students and their parents feel bamboozled by the detail and jargon they face when choosing a laptop. “For students it’s often one of the biggest purchases they’ll make before starting their degree,” says Stephanie Foat, computing expert for electrical retailer AO.
“There’s now a huge range of products available across every budget, and shoppers are faced with lots of technical terminology around processors, RAM, storage, battery life and AI features,” she says. “While more choice is a great thing, it can make it difficult to understand which features are genuinely important and which are simply nice to have.”
