Ian Harding has become a father for the first time, as he welcomed a baby with his wife Sophie Hart.
The Pretty Little Liars star, 36, shared the happy news on Friday as he took to Instagram to share an adorable first picture of his child. The baby wore a zebra print onesie and held on tightly to Ian's thumb.
Captioning the post, Ian wrote: "Thank you for the Birthday wishes folks. I’m thankful for many things this past year, but most of all I’m grateful for the best early birthday present a fella could ask for."
The new dad didn't reveal the child's name or sex in the post.
In a sweet coincidence, the birth of the couple's first child comes just one month after Ian's character in the hit drama series, Ezra Fitz, adopted a baby boy from Imogen Adams (Bailee Madison).
Ian has been married to freelance photographer Sophie since 2019, but the couple kept their nuptials a secret from fans for two years.
The couple have been in a relationship since 2011 and swapped vows in a private ceremony. It took two years for fans to notice he was wearing a wedding ring in a string of social media posts, with an insider confirming the news.
A source told E! News: "[Ian] and longtime girlfriend Sophie Hart quietly tied the knot nearly two years ago, with the wedding ceremony taking place back in October 2019."
Explaining his shy nature to Ability magazine, Ian said: "I enjoy performing, but I don’t actually like everything else that comes with it, like the need to constantly put yourself out there on social media.
"I still get weird looks if I’m at a party and someone says, ‘Oh, we’re going to take a photo.’
"And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I don’t really want to take any photos.’ … It’s fun to be in front of a camera, but I never want to see the end product."
While Ian will now be on nappy duty, his fans can look forward to seeing him star in his latest project in just a couple of months.
The actor is starring in the Hallmark film, The Ghost of Christmas Always, which will also feature Kim Matula and Family Matter star Reginald VelJohnson.
The story is a spin on the classic A Christmas Carol, but told from the point of view of a ghost named Katherine Marley, with a little romance thrown in.
