Amid a surge of presidential advertising in key battleground states, Democrats and Republicans have engaged in a neck-and-neck battle on the airwaves following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race. Over the past four weeks, a total of $241.1 million has been spent on presidential advertising in seven crucial states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina, and Nevada.

During this period, both parties have nearly matched each other in advertising expenditures, with Democrats spending $118.8 million and Republicans allocating $118.2 million. These figures encompass spending from campaign teams and external groups across various platforms such as TV, digital, and others.

While the overall spending has been evenly split, there have been slight variations in the focus of each party within the key states. Democrats have directed more resources towards Michigan, with a total investment of $24.5 million compared to Republicans' $18.3 million. Conversely, Republicans have prioritized Georgia, spending $21.4 million as opposed to Democrats' $15.1 million. Democrats have also allocated more funds to Wisconsin, while Republicans have concentrated their efforts on Arizona.

Despite these differences, both parties have identified Pennsylvania as the primary battleground. The state has been inundated with over $76 million in presidential advertising during the four-week period. Democrats and Republicans have been engaged in a back-and-forth battle for advertising dominance in Pennsylvania, with Democrats currently holding a slight edge at $39.1 million compared to Republicans' $37.5 million.
