Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky used his daily address on Sunday night (April 17) to call for quicker sanctions from the West amid reports of alleged war crimes in the south of his country.
The president described Russia's actions as 'deliberate terror' citing reported civilian deaths in Kharkiv and the construction of torture chambers in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
"In the last four days alone, 18 people have been killed and 106 have been wounded by the Russian shelling of Kharkiv," he said. "This is nothing but deliberate terror. Mortars, artillery against ordinary residential neighbourhoods, against ordinary civilians.
