A motorcade carrying the casket of late President Jimmy Carter is currently making its way from Joint Base Andrews to the US Navy Memorial in Washington, DC. This solemn procession marks the beginning of the final journey for the 39th President of the United States.
Upon reaching the US Navy Memorial, the casket will be transferred to a horse-drawn caisson, a traditional honor reserved for dignitaries and military personnel. The caisson will then lead a funeral procession to the US Capitol, where President Carter will lie in state.
