President Michael D Higgins has extended a Christmas welcome to Ukrainians in Ireland after the outbreak of war in their country back in February.
Almost 70,000 Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion have moved to Ireland with many settling in communities and children attending schools.
The President paid a poignant tribute to those now living here saying that Irish people more than most understand the "experience of Christmas far from home."
