President Joe Biden is set to deliver his State of the Union speech on Thursday, where he plans to highlight the differences between his economic policy and that of congressional Republicans. According to a White House official, the President will emphasize how his economy is benefiting young people, while criticizing the Republicans' tax policy as favoring the wealthy.
Jared Bernstein, Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, mentioned that President Biden will use the speech to showcase his efforts in fighting for lower costs, improved living standards for low-income families, creating good jobs, promoting union jobs, and boosting domestic production.
Bernstein also noted that the President will address his initiatives to cancel student loan debt, underscoring the importance of these actions in supporting young Americans.
The economy remains a key focus for President Biden, as reflected in his approval ratings, which have not exceeded 40% since December 2021. Currently, his approval rating stands at 37% among the general public, based on recent polling data.
