Biden had a conversation with Trump earlier on Wednesday to congratulate him on his victory and extended an invitation for him to visit the White House, as confirmed by a White House official. Trump expressed his appreciation for the call from Biden and intends to accept the invitation to meet with him shortly, according to his campaign.

Despite not mentioning the former president by name, Biden acknowledged Harris for leading a 'historic campaign' under 'extraordinary circumstances' after he withdrew from the race earlier in the summer.
