President Joe Biden’s advisers spent part of Friday reaching out to Democratic donors to address concerns following his recent debate performance. The president is currently in New York City attending a fundraiser with LGBTQ+ supporters, which is anticipated to raise over $3 million, making it the most successful LGBTQ+ Gala event to date.
Tickets for the fundraiser ranged from $250 to $500,000, showcasing a wide range of support for the president. Additionally, Biden and the first lady are scheduled to attend three more fundraisers on Saturday, further bolstering their financial backing.

The campaign recently reported a significant fundraising success, with $14 million raised around the time of the debate. This marked their most prosperous grassroots fundraising day since the campaign's inception in April 2020.
Prior to the debate, Biden was already facing a crucial fundraising challenge, having raised $85 million between his campaign and joint Democratic fundraising committees. In comparison, former President Donald Trump raised $141 million during the same period, narrowing the financial gap that Biden had maintained throughout most of the election cycle.
