President Joe Biden has responded to a shooting incident that occurred at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. The former president and at least one spectator were reported dead, with Trump being safely escorted to safety by the Secret Service.
Biden, who was attending Mass at St. Edmund’s Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, was briefed on the shooting by Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Homeland Security adviser Liz Sherwood-Randall.
In his statement, Biden expressed gratitude for Trump's safety and well-being, offering prayers for him and his family, as well as for all those who were present at the rally. He emphasized the need for unity in condemning such acts of violence, stating that there is no place for such incidents in America.
The White House confirmed that Biden was briefed on the situation while in Delaware and commended the Secret Service for their swift response in ensuring Trump's safety.
