The assassination attempt occurred while Trump was golfing at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Secret Service agents intervened when they noticed a suspect attempting to breach the security perimeter by poking a rifle through a fence near the former president.

The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Routh from North Carolina, was swiftly apprehended following the incident. Law enforcement authorities were able to locate Routh with the help of a witness who provided a photo of the suspect's vehicle.

Routh is scheduled to appear in federal court in West Palm Beach on Monday morning to face anticipated federal charges related to the assassination attempt.
