Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love found receiver Dontayvion Wicks for a 65-yard touchdown pass on the third play of the first series during the preseason opener on Saturday afternoon against the Cleveland Browns.
Wicks beat safety Ronnie Hickman down the field on 3rd-and-4 and went into the end zone untouched to give the Packers a 6-0 lead. Anders Carlson tacked on the extra point to push the lead to 7-0.
Love completed both of his passes on the opening drive, including a short dump-off pass to Josh Jacobs. On the first play from scrimmage, Jacobs gained seven yards on a run.

Wicks aligned centrally in a trips formation, drawing the coverage of a safety. On a slot fade, Wicks won easily.
The drive went three plays for 70 yards after the opening kickoff was a touchback.
Wicks, a 2023 fifth-round pick, caught four touchdown passes during the regular season and one touchdown pass during the postseason as a rookie. He is a potential breakout candidate in 2024.
