Premier League side emerges as bookies favourite to sign Leeds United's Illan Meslier

Chelsea are the bookies' favourites to land Leeds United keeper Illan Meslier - if the Frenchman leaves Elland Road this summer. Meslier is one of a series of Leeds players that have been linked with moves following the Whites' relegation to the Championship.

And a number of Premier League sides including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Spurs have been touted as potential destinations for the 23-year-old, with all three on the lookout for a new goalkeeper before the season starts. With new head coach Ange Postecoglou now in place, and with current number one Hugo Lloris saying he wants to move on, Spurs have already dipped into the market to bring in Guglielmo Vicario from Italian side Empoli in a deal worth more than £17m and it is no surprise that after being favourites earlier in the summer they are now viewed as the least likely of the three Premier League clubs to sign Meslier before September 3, with Legalsportsbooks.com.

Instead it is their cross-London rivals Chelsea who are 2/1 favourites to sign Meslier, with speculation growing that the Blues are looking to replace Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who have been underwhelming. Manchester United are also in need of a new first choice keeper to replace David de Gea, with the Spaniard leaving Old Trafford at the end of June when his contract expired.

Erik ten Hag's side is rated at 4/1 to sign Meslier this summer. With Leeds fighting for Premier League survival under Sam Allardyce at the end of last season, Meslier lost his place in the side but overall he has been highly rated during his time with the club.

The former Lorient man is under contract to Leeds until the summer of 2026, meaning that if he does move on the Whites should receive a sizeable fee.
