Premier League side change Newcastle ticket price as club become huge draw under Eddie Howe

Newcastle United are anticipated to be a huge draw at the Vitality Stadium this season after Eddie Howe's side were grouped alongside champions Man City in Bournemouth's new ticketing scheme.

Match pricing varies for non-season ticket holders at the Vitality depending on the opponent after visiting teams were divided into three categories for the upcoming campaign. As Newcastle fan JJ Charlton highlighted, the Magpies are now in category A alongside Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs.

Tickets to see Newcastle play range from £37 to £53 for adult Bournemouth fans, £26 and £34 for concessions; and £9-£16 for kids. As much as those prices reflect Newcastle's rise, after the black-and-whites finished in the top four for the first time in 20 years last time out, they also take into account the expected demand to see Howe return to his old stomping ground once again.

Howe was given a hero's reception by both sets of fans following the 1-1 draw on the South Coast last season, which was the former Bournemouth boss' first trip to the Vitality since leaving the club in 2020. Howe choked up as Bournemouth fans sang his name and the away end chanted: "Eddie Howe's black and white army!" on his walk around the pitch after the game.

It is hard to imagine another manager in the country getting a reception quite like it, but it shows you the esteem Howe is held in by supporters of both his current and former clubs. Howe admitted the reaction that night meant the 'world' to him as memories came flooding back of the former defender's long association with Bournemouth, including his late mother, Anne, taking him to training as a 12-year-old.

"It was emotional - I'm not going to hide that fact," he said. "With how long I had been at this football club without the chance to say goodbye to people who had given me so much to my life. Not just to me but my family as well. That was difficult. The Bournemouth supporters were amazing with me. I can't thank them enough for that. It was just a chance for me to thank them. It was a very special moment."
