Tottenham and Arsenal battle for an unlikely fourth-place finish on Sunday.
Just a month ago, having lost at Burnley, Spurs were facing a possible season without European football and, potentially, without their manager Antonio Conte, the manager threatening to quit after another dismal defeat.
This was also never in Arsenal's plan for the season. Mikel Arteta's process earmarked a return to European football after missing out last season, so anything was progress, but a return to the continent's top table was always the dream.
It's a dream which should have already come true for the Gunners, though, but back-to-back defeats to Spurs and the Newcastle means they need their rivals to slip up on the final day.
On the final day, Tottenham are at Norwich City as Arsenal host Everton.
As it stands, Tottenham's superior goal difference advantage of 15 goals means a draw at bottom-of-the-table Norwich will be enough.
Arsenal must win to stand a chance and hope Spurs lose at Norwich. That task was in midweek made easier as Everton confirmed their Premier League status for another season with a remarkable comeback 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.
