Nottingham Forest's match with Newcastle United will not be televised live on the opening weekend of the Premier League season after television picks were announced.
A trip to St James' Park is in store for Steve Cooper 's side to kick off their first top-flight season for 23 years, but making the journey up to the North East will be the only way to watch the action live after Sky Sports and BT Sport have chosen not to broadcast the match. That does, though, mean that Forest fans can start to plan ahead with the fixture to remain in the traditional 3pm slot on Saturday, 6 August.
As of yet, only the fixtures for the opening weekend have been revealed in the aftermath of full fixtures for the 2022/23 season being released. The Premier League television picks for the rest of August as well as September are set to be announced on 5 July.

A London derby will kick off the season on Friday night as Patrick Vieira again hosts his former club when Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace under the lights at Selhurst Park. Reigning Championship holders Fulham are the only promoted club to be picked on the opening weekend as Liverpool's trip to Craven Cottage will be shown by BT Sport on Saturday lunchtime.
Five fixtures, Forest included, are to take place in the afternoon before Everton manager Frank Lampard welcomes former club Chelsea to Goodison Park for the teatime kick-off. That leaves just the two matches on Sunday as both Manchester clubs are in action, with United hosting Brighton and Hove Albion while City travel to the capital for a fixture against West Ham United.
