Premier League fixtures 2023/24: TV matches confirmed for opening weekend

The Premier League fixture list for the upcoming 2023/24 season has been announced.

It may only be a few weeks since Manchester City lifted the Premier League trophy and Manchester United finished third in Erik ten Hag’s first year at the club but preparations have already been put in place for next season. Pep Guardiola will be aiming to emulate the club’s historic treble, while United will be looking to add more silverware after winning the League Cup.

City are set to get the ball rolling on the new season as they travel to Vincent Kompany’s newly-promoted Burnley side for a Friday night game on August 11, with the first round of games ending with United’s home game against Wolves on Monday, August 14. Here’s a look at what games have been selected for TV on the opening weekend:

City will kick-off the new season with their trip to Burnley, which is set to be broadcast on Sky Sports as Pep Guardiola’s side begin the defence of their Premier League crown.

Moving on to Saturday and the newly-rebranded TNT Sports will host its first Premier League game as Arsenal host Nottingham Forest in the early 12.30pm kick-off. Following the 3pm games, Sky Sports will show Aston Villa’s evening trip to Newcastle in the 5.30pm kick-off, with both sides looking to build on impressive seasons after finishing in the European places.

The first Super Sunday on Sky Sports begins with Brentford hosting Tottenham Hotspur at 2pm. That will be swiftly followed by Liverpool’s trip to Chelsea in a high-profile opening game at Stamford Bridge (4.30pm kick-off).

The opening round of league fixtures will conclude on Monday night at Old Trafford in an 8pm kick-off, with United’s clash with Wolves being shown on Sky Sports.
