Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay has joined St Mirren on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old right-back becomes the Buddies' tenth summer signing as Craig McLeish aims to bolster his squad for the upcoming season.
Ramsay, who hails from Aberdeen, made his mark as one of Scotland's brightest young talents during the 2021/22 season with 33 appearances for the Dons.
He was awarded the Scottish Football Writers' Association Young Player of the Year award. His impressive form with Aberdeen led to a £4 million transfer to Liverpool in June 2022, where he signed a five-year contract.
Ramsay made his debut for Liverpool in the Champions League victory over Napoli in the same year. He also earned his first Scotland cap in the friendly defeat to Turkey in November 2022.
However, his time with the Reds has seen him go on loan spells at Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, and Kilmarnock. Ramsay is now returning to the Premiership in search of regular football.
Ramsay is eager to resurrect his career at the SMiSA Stadium and believes St Mirren's new style of play will complement his game. He said: "I feel really good, really excited. I've been in and trained and met all the boys, so yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
"I know the league, and I wanted to come back up here and try and show what I can do and rebuild myself again. I feel like it's a good place to come.

"I want to try and perform, work as hard as I can, and see where that takes me."
Ramsay also highlighted discussions with McLeish as a key factor in his decision to move to Paisley. He added: "I spoke to the manager a couple of times before I came up, and he got his plan across and what he wanted to do.
"It's probably a different St Mirren compared to the last few years. That'll suit me. I'm comfortable on the ball, I'm composed, I like to get on it and try and create things and make things happen."
McLeish believes Ramsay's addition will be a significant boost for St Mirren and insists the club can provide the Liverpool player with the platform he needs to restart his career. He said: "We're delighted to have a player of that calibre join us.
"He brings a lot of quality to the group. He can play that position in a number of different ways, and it adds a different dynamic to what we're doing."
McLeish is confident Ramsay will make an immediate impact after completing a full pre-season at Liverpool. "He’s had a lot of game time with Liverpool over pre-season," the Saints boss added.
"He’s had the full pre-season under their new manager, which he said has been really intense.
"He said even just normal training sessions have been really intense too, so we’ve got no real issues there about him coming straight in."
